Hidden between the giant banks and wide boulevards of the City of London, is another, ancient and evocative, City. We head for little gardens, former monasteries and tiny passages and alleys with names like ‘Magpie Alley’, St Bride’s Passage, and Wardrobe Place (former site of the King’s Wardrobe, destroyed by the Great Fire in 1666). Ideal for a work event with a difference or perhaps a weekend trip when the city is quiet?
