Oscars 2014. The most awarded movies and most respected actors

The event that took place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, held breathless most respected actors of the moment, gathered for the most wanted statue in the world.

"Gravity" and "12 years of slavery" were the big winners of the night, receiving 7 and 3 Oscars.

Award for "Best Actor" was taken by Matthew McConaughey for his role in 'Dallas Buyers Club', despite the fact that the favourites were Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio. McConaughey has managed to lose 20 pounds to play the role of an electrician in Texas diagnosed with HIV in 1986.

"Best Movie" award was designated to "12 years of slavery", a story about survival, and freedom, in a time where colour provides human value. The surprise of the evening was the award for "Best Actress" that Lupita Nyong'o won for her role in this film. It was her first time at the gala and her first major role, but managed to overtake Jennifer Lawrence.

Cate Blanchet claimed the Oscar for "Best Actress", for the movie "Blue Jasmine". Among other prizes awarded:

“Best soundtrack” - "Let it go" in the animation "Frozen"
