Nail Care Tips

The nails and hands are two parts of our bodies that we often take for granted. We use them every day of our lives, but fail to take care of them as much as we take care of our hair or teeth for example.

As our fingernails are so noticeable and convey a message about us to everyone we meet, it is crucial we take just a little time and educate ourselves on how to care for them well.

Nail Care Tips:

• Always drink plenty of water every day. As cracked nails may be an indication that you are in need of a greater fluid intake.

• To strengthen nails and hydrate the skin on your hands, soak them for five minutes in a warm cup of milk.

• To remove stains from your nails, mix one tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup of water and soak your nails in this liquid for a few minutes.

Then, wash your hands with warm water and apply a hand moisturizer.

• Use a good quality buffer if possible once a week, no more than twice a week.

• Use a soft nail file. Emery boards can be too coarse and damage the nail easily unless used with great care.

• Wear protective gloves when doing any work that requires the hands to be sunken in water or come in contact with chemicals.

• Give special attention to the cuticles regularly, using a moisturizing cream often to avoid the cuticles from drying out.
