Mark Ronson and Katy B take on the Olympics song

Grammy award-winning producer Mark Ronson and Katy B are set to team up to record a theme song for the London 2012 Olympics. Part of Coca-Cola’s Olympic marketing campaign, ‘Move to the Beat’ which aims at inspiring the youths of the world to part in the Olympic.

For the first time the pair will work together, announced at a press conference, the track will be used across all Olympic branded advertising on every available medium.

All of which means that Mark Ronson and Katy B track should be unavoidable next summer.

In a neat twist, Mark Ronson has recorded actual sporting events in five countries to provide a backdrop for the song. The producer is set to include the sound of a bat hitting a table tennis ball, the noise of an arrow being unleashed and more.

In some cases he even attached microphones to the arms and legs of Olympic potentials, for example, he had Russian sprinter Kseniya Vdovina run on a treadmill, thus elevating her heart rate to 120bpm, as the tempo of the track, it seems as if Mark Ronson has left no stone unturned.

Of course, this is the latest triumph for Katy B. Still essentially an independently signed artist, the BRIT trained singer came of age in the Rinse FM crew.

Mark Ronson / Katy B's Olympic single will be released next summer. The tune will also be used in one of Coca-Cola's London 2012 adverts.
