London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week (LFW) is one of the highest profile fashion events in the world and one of the ‘big four’ international catwalk influencers. The Womenswear shows & Exhibitions is taking place from Friday 17th February till Tuesday 21st February.

The first day of the event boosted designers, fashionistas, celebrities and visitors from over 25 countries, including the U.S., the Middle East, China, Italy, Russia and France.

Joanna Sykes, the design director, combined her own signature sassy androgyny with the clean utilitarian lines that formed one of New York’s strongest themes last week. Rich, bonded-wool coats were striped in cream patent leather, and dark indigo jackets were sexily shaped.

Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro added a twist of punk, too, matching bullet-hole-stamped wide belts, and beehives that looked like they’d partied pretty hard. Baggy, black leather shorts and trousers added a younger element to the signature tea dresses, bold checks and silky peachy prints that will keep the pyjama trend going.

Todd Lynn worked with Christian Louboutin for a gorgeous line-up of baggy ankled, studded boots, as well as The Libertines’ Gary Powell for a bespoke soundtrack.
