Columbia Road Shops & Flower Market

This is one of London’s most beloved and appealing markets.

Every Sunday, no matter if the weather is bad or that maybe it’s a holiday, from 8am until 3 pm, the place becomes a wonderful oasis full of buckets of beautiful flowers and colors. Sitting on the edge of the city in the East End, Columbia Road has Shoreditch to the West and Brick Lane nearby.

From bedding plants, bulbs, herbs and shrubs to 10feet banana trees everything is here, waiting for you. The scent in the air is so powerful and sweet, that all your senses are awakened.  The flowers are locally grown or imported from all over the world.

But the market is not all about flowers. The street includes sixty independent shops. You will also find numerous galleries and shops that sell antiques, beauty products, pottery, perfume and accessories. Between your shopping sessions you can relax and have a snack or a coffee in one of the cafes on the Columbia Road or stop at one of the cup cake shops or English and Italian delis.

Afterwards, you can go in a vintage treasure hunt and find a piece of furniture for your house or a unique accessory.

These shops are only opened at the weekend and the best bargains are made on Sunday around 2pm, when the market is near its closing time.

This is the perfect place to start your Sunday and have a great time in this lively market, between vivid colors.
